Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Well, so far the job is going swimmingly. I am enjoying the hunt for
information so far. I am still not familiar with all the screens, but
over all I think I will be pretty happy. I just turned in my time sheet
with just 80 hours on it. I don't remember the last time that happened!
Now when I get the paycheck I may not be so happy.

I need to head over to Lewis today and try and find a birthday card for
DJ. We went out Saturday for an early birthday celebration. The pedicure
and lunch were divine! Afterwards I headed over to the craft show and
bought some really neat stuff there. I saw the people behind the tables
and laughed. I remember selling in such close quarters. There were
several-I am not happy with my neighbors- I haven't sold much and I am
regretting coming- I am just happy to be here. I try to fall in the last
one.

The MIL flies home today. We had a lot of fun since DH had to work while
she was here. It was nice having "just us girls". I got to take her out
for her birthday dinner and we had chocolate cake from Rollin'
Pin(yum!). We were supposed to go somewhere nicer but it was date night
and that doesn't work very well that early in the evening. I was hoping
to have a PA night while she was here so we could sit back and knit. Oh
well-schedules are a little hectic. I did finish the baby blanket I was
working on. It really turned out nice and it was pretty big. Now I have
to start the scarves for the church tree. I have AmyV's gift almost done
for the make something for me in a year. I have to find the other part
of it.

DH heads back for his normal shift Wed night. My great aunt passed away
in North Dakota. Mom was up there for the passing so that was good. I
was not able to get there for the funeral since I only have a trainer
for this week then there is no one next week with Thanksgiving and all.

Halloween was pretty cool we had more kids than before. Almost as many as the first year we moved in. Of course that may have something to do with the fact it was on a Saturday night and this year was again that same Saturday night but with a full moon added. WOW!! It was pretty nice so we sat outside and enjoyed the kids as they yelled and went house to house. I had gotten a 2 hour nap after working on the upstairs bathroom and entryway. Luke came and mowed the lawn so it looked really nice for the Trick or Treaters. We handed out candy until around 08:30pm, went to Arbys to get some supper, watched a little TV then off to bed. I guess I got up around 3 or 4am. Not a good time after being up for almost 24 hours straight but that is when I was up.

Sunday was really nice we went to the 930am service which is not a normal one for us. There were many people that showed up thinking it was the 1040 service. Time change is really hell. We went to Chevy's after that for the buffet very nice. I saw Gordon from work. I can't remember the last time we were able to go there on a Sunday. We laid down for a nap around 2pm or so, I got up at 7pm and stayed up until midnight really just messing around on the internet and watching TV. I finally went back to bed and was up at 5am. I got up got dressed, changed my shoes and shirt twice. I went upstairs to make coffee and DH drank all the milk, so 6am off to the store to get bananas and milk. Got 2 cups of coffee in me so far packed my lunch and a book for my hour lunch break. I really won't know how to act. I heard on the radio later this week up to the 60's and 70's. I LOVE IT!!!!

DH got his car worked on a tune up and new battery for the winter so hopefully it will start when it get minus 0. We realized if I have to be at work at 8am and he gets off at 8am I can't come get him and he will have to call a taxi or rely on someone else to take him home. I got some of the laundry done and am trying to figure out what a new schedule for that kind of thing will be. Well first day wish me luck!

Well I must say my last night went as well as could be expected. I got a
wonderful card, dessert and a plant from Customer Service and 2 people
wished me good luck that I actually worked with for 3 years. 1 was
sarcastic thanks Wes. I guess I am not super surprised but still I am a
little hurt. Oh well hopefully better things await. I know the new
system will be a bear cat to learn but I don't think I will have too
much of a problem as long as I take good notes. DH says as long as I do
that I have no problems with new systems-he says I am kind of good at
it. Well that is 1 thing huh?

I have a ton of stuff to try and get ready before the MIL comes for a
visit. I will be just starting on my shift when she rolls into town and
I am not sure how this is going to work with my new routine. I will have
to try and start right away on a new routine and really get into the
habit so it becomes second nature. I want to make sure I have lunch
packed and ready to go the night before. Coffee timer set so when I get
up it is ready. I wanted a push button start thingy for the car but so
far nope. Maybe from Santa!! I got DH bathroom cleaned up and ready and
the kitchen counters kind of re-organized and ready to go. I wiped down
the inside of the fridge. I broke a glass candle holder so 1 rug was
shaken out and the floor swept. I have the table and entryway to clear
out then work on the upstairs and upstairs bathroom. I can't think of it
all at once because it would be too overwhelming. I am taking it a
little at a time. Of course I want the entryway finished before tonight
and the trick or treaters-we shall see. I need to find my Halloween
bucket and put candy bars in it by the door like always. I need to put
Grace's frog gift in a bag for her to open. I just realized I did not
mail out my Halloween cards. I bought them but just did not get them
mailed. HUH?!?!? I have been meaning to find time to get them addressed
but I guess it just didn't happen this year. I don't think I sent any
out last year either. Senior moment maybe? I don't think I am old enough
for that yet.

I am really just heavily in the hand of God right now. I know because I
haven't yelled at anyone about how hurt my feelings are. I have tried to
have some kind of plan with the whole new situation. I am trying to be
positive about the new day thing and traffic. I only have 2 days to get
on a day schedule. Saturday I will have to be up for about 24 hours then
try and sleep thru the night. Maybe I will need a nap and actually set
my alarm after a few hours. I don't normally do well with naps but in
this case that is way too long. I don't know how I would have made it
work with just the Sunday off like they originally wanted me to do.
Luckily I had a vacation day left so I can try it in 2 days instead of
just one. I still have 1 personal day I am not sure when I will be able
to use that but it has to be before the end of the year. I need to go
online to figure out SCA event days for vacation requests for next year.
We can do more events now so I am excited to see where we will end up.

Pretty exciting stuff-I am released 10/31. I start day shift 11/02
8am-5pm with an hour lunch. Whoo-Hoo!
I got Halloween off as a vacation day so I only work until next week
Friday 1/2 the shift alone but then days. I need to bring down my good
shoes and put my tennies upstairs since they are not allowed during the
day shift. I have dress down stickers November and December so I can at
least wear sweatshirts and jeans. I will eventually have to get a full
day wardrobe by Jan. That is a long time off. I will have to work
partially alone 3 more times then no more! I hope to still come over and
work a little bit of overtime here and there.

Well, I had a great get together with the girls. AmyV brought a friend
along-she was fun. She is learning to knit and is already knitting in
the round for a hat. Way to go! Megs is swamped with tests this month-I
only hope it gets better as she develops studying habits again and work
evens out. Ruth's farm is coming along well. They are getting ready for
winter and the kittens do not like the snow.

Mom went up to North Dakota again for Aunt Bernice. She was in the
hospital again. She got out on Sunday afternoon and was back in again
Sunday night. Mom had to come back Monday to get back to school. She is
still in the hospital as far as I know and will be celebrating her 95th
birthday there Saturday. I guess she has had a partial stroke at some
point. It does not look good right now, maybe once they get her stable
she will begin rehab to come back home. She needs prayers right now for
comfort and his will of course.

I still have not heard anything about the new job, other than I have it.
We are super short staffed and I have no idea how they are going to make
this work. It will be something to see from a distance. I will be happy
to leave it all behind eventually. It is the waiting that is not my
favorite. I am trying to be patient but I keep getting the shaft. I had
Halloween off but decided not to take it since it is on a Saturday and
that does not guarantee I get all my days off, so instead of wasting it,
I thought I would save it.

It has been doing nothing but raining here. I was hoping it would turn
nice for a few days. Hopefully Sunday and Monday I will be able to clean
up the garden. That is still on my to do list. I haven't really had a
whole lot of time to look out side the back window, but I think
everything is pretty much done for the season. I really can't believe it
is so cold and nasty already. Sunday and Monday look pretty good. I am
glad I took Sunday off so I can have a 3 day weekend. YAY!! I am not
sure what we will all be doing on my days off. Church at 10:40 for
sure!!!! I am sure lunch with Mamma for sure!! Possibly a movie or two.
DH wants to see where the wild things are. I didn't want to see it but
he wanted to see 9 and that is gone so I should see it if nothing else
because I liked the book. Who knows. DJ brought cupcakes and they were
YUMMY!! She makes a great bread too that is out of this world!

Being stuck once again alone at work. No one willing to come in an help
me. I can't help but take it personally. Which is whatever. We are going
thru a system change and things are a little slow. I don't fee very
well-my head is stuffy and my tummy isn't super happy. I managed some
crackers and cheese and a turkey sandwich much later in the night. I
have had cup upon cup of tea and that makes me happy.

I have also had a minute or two to shut my eyes and remember Ireland,
England and Wales. At the time I feasted upon the landscapes and now
months later I have been trying to go back and enjoy what we were able
to see.
It was really rush rush but later when you cast your memory back the
sites and smells. The people and stories. I miss talking to Jess and
Jessica in the morning at breakfast and discussing what we saw at supper
later that night. I still keep up with Jessica-we are both on Facebook.
Small world. I really haven't heard from anyone else that was on the
trip. I sent a few emails and no response was had. I guess the girls
were really the only 2 Mom and I spent a lot of time with. I am really
glad to have met them!

Mom was saying something about Germany next year. Maybe with the new job
I can have enough time off for a few events and the trip. That is a big
maybe. I need to find Mom a German phrase book so she can get started
with learning the different things she will need or at least be able to
find them in the book. I was thinking about spending some cash on a
language tape or cd's. It would be a little easier for her to remember
college German if she hears it spoken maybe.

I found out my Mom-in-law is coming out for a visit before my nephews
birthday in November. It will be nice having her come and help out. I am
not sure where I will be at in the new job, but I am sure we will all
have to be flexible to make it all work out. I will need to make sure
the new nephew's baby blanket is finished before she leaves so that can
fly back with her since the baby is due in December. Cordell I think is
his middle name maybe Lee. Cordy will be his nickname. I am sure Ed is
happy to get a brother, at least I hope he is.

We got snow Friday and are supposed to get more Sunday. So Sunday night
as I go to work it will be snowing and when I get off at 10am Monday (I
don't want to talk about it) It will still be snowing. YUCK!!! I got
forced to work Monday morning and I shouldn't have. I emailed my boss
and have no response and I will have to work alone Sunday night then
stay over Monday morning. I am not really digging it! When do I get to
leave-no date set as of yet. That is going to get old in a hurry. When I
know I will email everyone and not post it here since co-workers
apparently are nosy. Unless I start blocking everyone. I will have to
see when I get time if I can do that or not.

Talk about the whole thing getting spoiled. I wanted to break the news
to my fellow co-workers a few at a time. So they would find out from me.
It turns out someone at work read my blog and opened his big mouth about
it. Now of course everyone knows. I just found out Monday and everyone
knew by Tuesday. What a let down. I had a great plan and the plan was
keeping my mouth shut until I was ready to let people know. Thanks John!
Well on another note, I guess I don't have the pressure of having to let
people know.

I will need to get shopping. I need a new wardrobe. I don't think I have
many nice pants. I guess you can wear black jeans. I will have thru
December to get going on it. We have United Way Jeans stickers thru
December so I can dress down until Jan. I was hoping to find some pieces
at thrift stores. I need a good black and brown sweater to go over
shirts. I also have to go thru my shoes to get my "good" ones out since
tennies are not allowed during the day at all. There will be a few
things I will totally need to get used to. TRAFFIC!!! YIKES! Other than
that though I will only have to take 1 day off possibly 2 to travel for
an event. I can become more active at church, SCA and with the girls. DH
still has Sat-Tues off so we can still do plenty of things. If I go out
Friday I don't have to get up Sat until after 8am so no matter what I
can sleep in. YAY!!! The whole sleep thing I really hope if I can get on
a schedule, it will come naturally. I just can't believe it.

I am very thankful it happened the way it did minus the whole not
getting to tell people myself. I just hope I will be released from the
job I am at now fairly soon. I have heard it taking months when the area
is short to be allowed to take over the job you were hired for. I hope
not since we are getting training in Oct from the mother company and I
would like to be there for that rather than second hand training from
someone who went thru the class and wrote some stuff down and knows how
to do a few things. But oh well I will have to take what I can get.

I set up a ton of appointments for this month so hopefully I will be
able to get all that done before the day shift. I took a good look at my
glasses and found they are flaking at the edges. I may be able to get
thru another year with them fingers crossed. Thanks for all the prayers
for His will. He answered and will be a big help in all the changes. I
know I am stronger thru this. I get a desk again all to myself I think.
I will need to figure out what will be on my desk. I know a plant would
be nice for sure! I just need to pick which one, then make sure it
doesn't get too cold. Of course this is all whenever in the future.

I am just really thankful to be blessed. When it will all happen is the
big question, but I am truly blessed.
