Well, so far the scratches are healing and look better. The skin is bumpy like an alligator. It is beginning to itch and is a little lighter pink. I soaked it several times in hot water drawing out whatever infection had started. It was getting hot to the touch and a girl at work said to stop using peroxide this should only be done the first time when the wound is fresh, after that it kills all new skin growth. I had no idea I was continuing to use peroxide as long as it bubbled and it did not look any better. I was wrapping it at night with triple antibiotic save with gauze then during the night at work I would just put the save on it and keep my sleeve off of it. I started putting lotion on since it is no longer an open wound and is scabbing over nicely. I also stopped wrapping it at night.

We found out last week at the vet, Little Bear has an eye infection and possibly herpes. The vet said it could infect out other cats. I did not know that if we had quarantined him at first this may not have happened. The girl at work used to work in a vets office and she had owners come in that used peroxide on their pets and they were really infected. The soak them and put antibiotic stuff on them too. That is how I found out not to use peroxide. She said the new pet should be Quarantined for at least two weeks to avoid this. I said the Humane Society said nothing about that. I had no idea; none of my other animals had any infections or anything when we got them. She said herpes in the eye and eye infections are common in that type of situation. I had no idea now it may be too late to keep any of the rest from getting something. I know for sure we need to get the other two in to get their shots up to date since I have no idea what else they may be able to catch. We went to a new vet Prairie Creek that is closer to our house. I figured they would not get as stressed out with the short drive. I am not so sure about the vet. A guy I work with said he is really good and his daughter works there part time. Little Bear is scheduled to go back 11/25. I really need to call for the other two before then. They are only open 1pm-6pm. Weird!!!

I am still working on the baby blanket for DH co-worker. I got pretty far on Monday when I took his car in to get the rear tire looked at and rotated. Pomp’s is on the far East side of town and we don’t just happen over there for just anything. I called and they weren’t busy so I took off and figured after that I would stop by Honda for an oil change which was really needed. I worked mostly on the blanket and I think I am pretty close to being done but that is up to DH. It is his blanked after all. I woman that works at Pomp’s said she does baby blankets too but double stitch in crochet. The blog I referred you too in the last post on the left side has photo bucket if you click on the pictures I think you can access all the other photos I have uploaded. If not let me know and I will link them here or at least try.

I got my package from Ravelry group Holiday Swap. I had a great partner and got some cool stuff. I will post photos on that photo bucket website whenever I get them taken. 11/15 I get my new Secret Pal person. That will really be exciting. I need to check their website and post the questionnaire they require for gifts. I really can’t wait. I am still trying to figure out what to get some people for Yule. Megs, you are taken care of. Ruth, I need some kind of hint as far as what you may need. DJ what do you want I know what you could use, but what do you want as far as something. Grace I need a list for Christmas for her too. Mom what do you want?? Is there anyone else out there planning on getting me something? I need to know what your list is too so I can get going on it. I need to get stamps for Christmas cards soon. In December we should be getting our bonus check. I am not relying on it for gifts, but it does make the season easier. J

I was using Ruth’s new bag and have not been able to talk to DH about other ideas he had come up with for improvements. I will email you soon when I get together and we can talk about it while I type and email back. I really like it and can’t wait to see what ideas for improvements you have come up with. I will need to know what type of fabric you have available for a bag for Secret Pal, oh and stitch markers. Let me know what else you have besides your Etsy store.

DH wanted to go to Role Models and I was pretty tired with all the running around. We were going to go to Bible study Tuesday night @ 7 then try to meet up with mom for supper. We got to bed around 3pm and DH alarm went off he said no Bible study, Then my alarm went off and I said no supper with Mom. We slept in pretty late. It was very nice. Of course DH wanted me to get up and do some stuff but I was tired and I needed to sleep. He doesn’t really get the fact that I don’t get any kind of chance to catch up on my sleep or get a little extra until I have my days off. I figured it was enough Monday I stay up for 20 hours plus just so we can go out and do stuff like movies and eating out. Oh well eventually we will figure it out. I still want to try Bible study next Tuesday @ 7. It depends on DJ, she has a birthday 11/19 and I need to make sure I have time to spend with her. It is up to her what she would like to do since it is her birthday.

I found some great African violet planters at Lowe’s. They were on clearance and DH got me 8 of them. For sure I needed 5. It was really nice being able to get them all in the right kind of planters so I don’t kill them. I still have a few left over for if I get any new ones. I transplanted the one Joan from Esurance gave me. It started as a stem only and she taught me how to root the leaf. It was really cool and now it needed to be divided it was so big. I have two great plants. Hopefully they will survive the rooting. I tried to be really careful when pulling the roots apart, but who knows how well a plant will do. I also got a great Goldfish plant. My other one is infected with the orchids. The new one is on the kitchen table in a cute pot. Eventually when it gets a little better, I want to put it in a self watering pot. That way it will be damp but not wet. They don’t like to be too wet or too dry. It is a gorgeous plant when it blooms. I was hoping Cliff avenue greenhouse will get some in eventually. I can always order from this violet house online, but I have to wait until it gets warmer for sure. I just got this order in before it got freezing cold out. My huge Aloe Vera I got from my Grandma Vera so many years ago, I finally pulled out the 4 pieces that were doing the best and tossed the whole pot outside on the deck. I will dump the dirt in the garden this spring but for now it is in the snow. I transplanted the 4, 2 together and 3 separate. The 2 together 1 liquefied already and the other on is still doing ok. I am trying to keep the soil damp for a few weeks so the roots establish better before I let the dirt dry out more. I have the 2 Christmas cactus left. Anyone have any idea on how to repot them?? Is there something special I need to be aware of?

I need to go thru my craft bags so I can put them all in one. I found several different ones all with a few things in each. I need to put them all together and try to organize it at some point. I figured I was doing good just to get all my laundry finished and the towels put away upstairs. I was totally out of towels and there was just nothing more I could use. I had them folded and ready to go but just had no gumption to get them upstairs and put away. I put them on the main floor and the next day hauled the whole mess upstairs. They are not put away yet but I did have towels for my shower before work. I also got my dishwasher unloaded and reloaded and ran. Now today I need to try to put the dishes away so it is empty for next weeks load. I am going to work out this morning. The scale was broken last week so I have no idea how much better or worse I am doing but that doesn’t matter as long as I am trying to do something.       

I finished reading the newest book in Charlaine Harris vampire series. I am almost finished with her Shakespeare series, Lilly Bard; so far I like hers the best. Aurora Teagarden is another one of her series. I have them all but only read 2 of them. I need to be more careful on the order in which I read them. The Shakespeare series I missed 1 all together, I have it now thanks EBay, but I did not know what order it went. I read landlord, something (the one where she met her boyfriend) then trollop and counselor. It should have gone Landlord, something then Christmas then Trollop and Counselor. I am not stopping counselor just because I missed one. I will just go back and read it when I get done. I have secret rage and sweetly something too. They are another off shoot and I am not sure if they are a series on their own or something she was just writing for something different. I got Dianne Mott Davidson’s newer book in paperback. She has another one coming out soon and hopefully I can get it off Amazon or EBay. I did get Fleece Navidad from our dying, spinning, & knitting series. I can’t think of the author right now but this is her newest one, she also has another book coming next year sometime. Susan Albert Whiting has another one coming out next year too. I think I have read all of hers but after awhile if you don’t own them, I have trouble keeping track. The Cleo Coyle books I have only found a few of the later ones. I think I took them to Goodwill for a donation not thinking of course anyone else would want to read them (sorry Megs!) I will keep looking and try to round up some others for you to try.
